The vineyards are located surrounding the town of Tabuenca in the higher altitude zones of Campo de Borja, on the foothills of the Moncayo massiff.

Planted between 1910 and 1950.
Head trained, dry farmed vineyards that are cared for by hand. Due to the arid climate, in many cases these vineyards receive only one organic sulfur spray per year.
A wide variety of soil types that vary based on the location of the vineyards on the extinct volcano. Very stony, with varying levels of red clay, limestone, and grey slate. Extremely well drained soils.
Continental climate with influences from both the Mediterranean in the East and the Atlantic in the North. Varying mesoclimates based on the position of the vineyards on the Moncayo.
The bunches are sorted and fermented in open-top, temperature controlled 8T stainless open top fermenters. Basket pressed.
Malolactic fermentation & ageing for 20 months in new French (80%) and American (20%) oak barrels.
Alto Moncayo is the finest Garnacha produced in Campo de Borja and is the ultimate expression of what can be achieved from the oldest vineyards of Garnacha's original clone. These wines are the idea of Jorge Ordóñez, Bodegas Borsao, and Chris Ringland.
